He cited a fear of being turned away at the entrance, which discourages him from showing up uninvited.

“I don’t attend shows if I haven’t been invited.I don’t want to risk being bounced. Sometimes, someone needs to reach out to you I can’t just show up on my own.”,he said

While he has received invitations in the past, Jamal admitted he hasn’t always been able to attend due to personal commitments and scheduling conflicts, especially when he had performances outside Kampala. However, he mentioned honoring invites from artists like Aziz Azion.

“I won’t list the ones who invited me and I didn’t show up that would be disrespectful. But when I’m invited and available, I do show support.”,he said.

Jamal was a prominent figure in the Ugandan music scene during the 2000s, known for his heartfelt ballads that resonated with many.

However, he later faded from the spotlight. In a previous interview, he attributed his career slowdown to poor management. Despite releasing quality music, he said the financial returns were disappointing, prompting him to take a break from the industry.
