President Yoweri Museveni left many youths amused after politely rejecting a request for a cash giveaway made by media personality and YouTuber Kasuku during a live youth engagement at State House Nakasero.
Kasuku, real name Isaac Katende, was one of the moderators at the Jazz With Jajja session, where President Museveni interacted with young people, popularly known as bazzukulu, across YouTube, TikTok and X.

As the discussion came to an end, Kasuku made his usual playful appeal for money, a move he jokingly refers to as “luseke.” Speaking on behalf of the youths, he told the President that many had sent him with a message.
“The people told me not to forget to tell Jajja that we are here. He should pack for us some things, give them to you, and we enjoy as bazzukulu,” Kasuku said, asking the President to “load him” with goodies for the young people.
Kasuku added that while he understands the President may not be into fun activities, a little money for enjoyment and giveaways would be welcome.

However, President Museveni calmly turned down the request, explaining that the timing made it risky.
Although he is still the sitting Head of State, Museveni noted that he is now a presidential candidate, and giving out money could be taken as bribery.
“I don’t want to go to prison because I’m a candidate,If I reward people, I will be arrested for bribing. So we shall wait until after the election, then we sort out issues.”,Museveni said.
In a light moment, the President even asked if there was a lawyer around to confirm his point, drawing laughter from the audience.

He concluded by clarifying that attendees would only receive UGX 1 million each as transport refund and nothing more.
