Hypers Kids Africa, a talented dance group from Uganda, is currently in the United States preparing to perform at a star-studded event at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California. They will share the stage with renowned artists like Burna Boy and Akon, among others.
The group shared the exciting news via a TikTok post featuring a video of them spending time with Akon, who previously visited Uganda. Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam, first visited Uganda in 2021 with his wife, Rozina Negusei. During the visit, they met with President Yoweri Museveni and First Lady Janet Museveni at their home in Rwakitura, Kiruhura District, to explore business opportunities in energy, tourism, and infrastructure development.
In a social media post, President Museveni said, “Mr. Aliaune Thiam (@Akon) and his wife have come to Uganda in search of business opportunities in sectors like energy, tourism, and infrastructure development. I am happy to engage in discussions that will uplift our people and Africa at large.” During his visit, Akon also met with Ugandan musician Bebe Cool and Mufti Sheikh Shaban Mubaje in Kampala.

Hypers Kids Africa gained further attention in 2023 when they hosted American rapper 6ix9ine (Daniel Hernandez) for the filming of his music video “Wapae.”
Founded in 2014 by Moses Butindo, Hypers Kids Africa is a group of 42 children focusing on dance, football, and acrobatics. Butindo revealed they have collaborated with international stars such as Chris Brown, Neymar, Ronaldinho, and Léo Santana.
