Kato John Ssenfuma, a teacher at Hillside College in Mityana District, is under arrest for allegedly attempt of defiling a 15-year-old student at the school he teaches, the Uganda Police Force has confirmed.
The accusations from Ms. Sheilah, a 26-year-old resident of Kyebando Erisa zone in Kawempe Division, Kampala, and the guardian of the minor who reported the teacher to he Police confessed.
John Ssenfuma’s communication through WhatsApp with the student were exposed on social media as the family invited him to their premises. On January 13, 2024, he was caught upon arrival, though a subsequent medical examination revealed the victim was unharmed.
The case file has been submitted to the Resident State Attorney’s office, and guidance from Kanyanya Police indicates the next steps.
Videos circulating on social media since Tuesday depict Mr. John Ssenfuma pleading for mercy from the parents of the minor he allegedly intended to engage with intimately.
