Rema previously shared a relationship with Eddy Kenzo for nearly seven years, and the two have a daughter together, Aamal Musuuza. Following their separation, Rema married Dr. Hamza Ssebunya in 2019, and the couple now shares two children.

Despite their shared history, Kenzo and Hamza have consistently shown mutual respect. One such moment was during Halima’s recent concert at the Kampala Serena Hotel. Kenzo, who had been invited by Halima, surprised the audience by calling Hamza on stage.

The two men embraced warmly, prompting cheers from the crowd especially from Rema, who was watching from the audience.

Halima later explained that the gesture was spontaneous and heartfelt.

“I invited Kenzo, and he, in turn, invited Hamza. It was all in good spirit,” she shared.

The veteran artist also emphasized that the supposed tension between the two men is largely a narrative pushed by the public.

“In our family, we even joke about it, it’s not a big deal anymore,” Halima added.

She noted that Rema has long become accustomed to this dynamic and views it with maturity and peace.

Halima concluded by highlighting the unbreakable bond between the two families, especially because of Aamal. “They’re linked for life. There’s no room for lasting resentment when you share children you’ll always cross paths at events like birthdays.”
