Singer Hassan Kigozi, better known as Geosteady, has opened up about his six-month break from the music scene, revealing that the pause was a personal decision made for the sake of his mental well-being not due to substance abuse, as some rumors had claimed.
Making his first public appearance in months at Comedy Store on Wednesday night, the “Viola” hitmaker addressed widespread speculation that he had gone to rehab to recover from drug addiction.
He set the record straight, explaining that his time away was purely to focus on his mental health after years of nonstop work.
“I’ve been supported by my mentor Humphrey Nabimanya, my sister, my wife, and many friends. It was about my mental health. As men, we often break down in silence, and the public rarely notices. When you feel overwhelmed, stepping away from the spotlight to work on yourself is essential,” Geosteady shared.

He went on to emphasize that rehabilitation is not just for those battling addiction, but for anyone seeking inner peace and clarity.
“I’ve worked for so many years without rest. Sometimes, it’s necessary to take time off and realign yourself”,he added.
