Eddy Kenzo to Headline CHAN 2024 Closing Ceremony in Nairobi

Award-winning Ugandan music star Eddy Kenzo is set to deliver a show stopping performance at the CHAN 2024 closing ceremony, taking place this Saturday, August 30, at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.

As the African Nations Championship (CHAN)  which kicked off nearly a month ago  reaches its thrilling conclusion with a final match between Morocco and Madagascar, fans will be treated to more than just football.

The closing ceremony promises to be a vibrant celebration of African music and culture, with Eddy Kenzo among the headline performers.

Although Uganda is no longer in the tournament, Eddy Kenzo will proudly fly the national flag high. His participation symbolizes both national pride and the country’s role as a joint host of this year’s CHAN edition, alongside Kenya and Tanzania.

The Big Talent Entertainment boss has become a household name across the continent, known for his infectious energy, signature dance moves, and uplifting music. With global hits like Tweyagale, Sitya Loss, Weekend, and Stamina, Kenzo who also serves as president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) continues to elevate Uganda’s presence on international stages.

Joining him on stage will be Kenya’s Savara, formerly of the iconic group Sauti Sol, and Tanzanian Bongo Flava sensation Zuchu from Wasafi Records. Together, the trio will represent East Africa in what organizers have dubbed a “musical celebration of regional unity.”

Kenzo’s performance not only adds star power to the finale but also ensures Uganda remains a visible and celebrated part of the tournament’s closing moments. His appearance reflects the broader spirit of CHAN 2024  a tournament that has not only showcased football talent but also strengthened regional bonds through sports and entertainment.

This year’s CHAN marks a historic milestone, being the first edition co-hosted by three East African nations. The event is widely seen as a significant step toward fostering greater cooperation and cultural exchange across the region.
