Eddy Kenzo, president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) has become the center of attention following an altercation with security personnel during the Kawempe North by-election campaign.
Yesterday, Kenzo was among the artists showing support for the NRM’s candidate, Faridah Nambi, in the highly anticipated by-election.
Before his performance, Kenzo took a moment to acknowledge President Museveni’s presence at the event, expressing gratitude for his appointment of Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, who Kenzo praised for improving the lives of ghetto residents.

However, things took a turn when Kenzo was asked to step down so the national anthem could be played ahead of the president’s departure.
Despite this request, Kenzo asked for more time to perform, explaining that it was a rare opportunity to perform for the president, a request that the event’s security team was not pleased with.

In a video circulating on social media, Eddy Kenzo is seen pushing one of the security personnel who tried to get him off the stage, prompting nearby onlookers to step in and deescalate the situation.
The security team reportedly wanted to clear the area to allow President Museveni to leave, but Eddy Kenzo insisted on finishing his performance before the president departed.

Ultimately, it was Prime Minister Nabbanja who intervened, instructing the security team to allow Kenzo to complete his performance as planned.
