Big Talent Entertainment boss and Uganda National Musicians Federation president, Eddy Kenzo, has opened up about his experience supporting fellow artist and politician Bobi Wine, revealing that he gained nothing from the association.

In a recent YouTube interview, Eddy Kenzo was asked why he had not continued supporting Bobi Wine and his National Unity Platform (NUP). He responded candidly, saying that aligning with Bobi Wine had no financial or professional benefit for him.

“As a man with responsibilities a family, children I have to think about survival. If I were to support him, what position would I hold? Where would I earn from? If he truly cared, why not step aside and support me instead? That’s how you know it’s all about him it doesn’t benefit anyone else.”,Kenzo explained.

Kenzo, who also serves as a presidential advisor on creatives, praised President Museveni for engaging with the entertainment sector and supporting its growth. He contrasted this with Bobi Wine, who he claimed has never made similar efforts to empower artists.

“President Museveni understands the creative space. He reaches out, brings us together, and asks how he can support the industry. Bobi Wine has never done that. I want to empower those around me so we can all thrive together.”,Eddy Kenzo said.

He also pointed out that many artists who initially backed Bobi Wine felt sidelined after being denied party positions or recognition within NUP.

He named Jose Chameleone, Patricko Mujjuko, Flavia Namulindwa, and Reign as examples of creatives who were denied NUP party cards despite showing support.

“We realized we were giving our support but getting nothing in return. It became clear it wasn’t about the artists, it was only about him,” Kenzo concluded.
