He revealed that a verified postmortem examination confirmed the cause of death as a heart attack.

Dr. Kiggundu, the founder and Executive Director of Henrob Hospital in Zzana, was a highly respected gynecologist, obstetrician, and fertility specialist known for his expertise in endometriosis surgery and Minimal Access Surgery. His sudden death prompted widespread speculation, with some suggesting foul play possibly linked to his brother’s public commentary.

Addressing the public on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Dr. Ssentongo acknowledged the grief his family is experiencing but stressed the importance of correcting misinformation.

“Although this is a difficult time, I feel compelled to speak out and dispel the harmful rumors circulating about my brother’s death, It is not true that he was shot or kidnapped. He was not murdered for political reasons. The credible postmortem indicates he died of a heart attack and was found a day later.”he wrote.

He also dismissed claims of any business ties between Dr. Kiggundu and Buganda premier Charles Peter Mayiga, clarifying that the only known association was Dr. Mayiga’s role as chief guest at the 2020 launch of Henrob Hospital a facility Dr. Kiggundu built from the ground up, starting from a small one-room clinic in 2003. The hospital’s name honors his sons, Henry and Robert.

“Please disregard the falsehoods that only serve to cause unnecessary harm and division,. Let John rest in peace.”” Dr. Ssentongo urged.
