Renowned Ugandan Deejay, DJ Roja, recently shared a heartfelt account of his spiritual journey and the unique religious background that shaped him.
In a candid interview, Roja revealed, “My father is Muslim, my mother is Catholic, and I’m a Born Again Christian. That’s why I believe in the God of all.”
He explained that growing up in a household with diverse religious beliefs taught him to value and respect all faiths. This blend of traditions, he says, instilled in him a deep appreciation for love, unity, and belief in one true God.
But Roja’s spirituality goes beyond personal belief it’s also an integral part of his professional life. He shared that before any major event, he commits to a week of fasting.
“If the show is on Friday, I fast from Monday to Friday,I don’t stress about the planning because I trust that God will take care of it.”,he said.
This spiritual discipline, he added, has played a key role in his successful career.
“I’ve never had a flopped show, and I give all the gratitude to God.”
Though many fans know him for his energetic sets and lively public persona, Roja says there’s a quieter, more reflective side to him that often goes unseen.
“People see the fun, carefree side of me but when I’m home, I’m grounded in reality.”,he said.
Having built a respected name in Uganda’s entertainment industry, DJ Roja continues to inspire many not only through his music but also through his message of faith and spiritual harmony.
