Renowned Ugandan musician Moses Ssali, better known as Bebe Cool, has publicly called out fellow artist Daddy Andre for questioning the qualifications of Eddy Kenzo in his new role as Senior Presidential Advisor on Creative Arts.
The criticism from Bebe Cool followed a live TV interview where Daddy Andre expressed doubts about Kenzo’s ability to succeed in the position. Andre suggested that the celebrated musician might not be well-suited to handle the responsibilities of the role.
In response, Bebe Cool argued that Daddy Andre has no “moral authority” to judge Kenzo’s capabilities, highlighting that Andre has not worked closely enough with Kenzo to make an informed assessment.
Bebe Cool further pointed out that if Daddy Andre were truly more qualified than Kenzo, he would have been the one chosen for the prestigious role by the President, not Kenzo.
The “Eazy ” singer also emphasized that individuals like Andre contribute to the slow development of Uganda’s entertainment industry by fostering division instead of unity.
To Bebe Cool, the key to advancing Uganda’s creative sector lies in collaboration and support among industry players, not in tearing each other down.
Alongside other music veterans like Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool has been an outspoken advocate for the growth of Uganda’s entertainment industry, working toward creating a stronger foundation for its future.
