Musician Gerald Muwonge, popularly known as Clever J, found himself in hot water over the Easter weekend after failing to honor a scheduled performance, nearly sparking a violent reaction from fans.
Clever J was booked to perform at the Kalmax Club in Kibiribiri, Mukono, during an Easter Sunday event. However, to the dismay of fans, he was a no-show that night and instead appeared a day later, on Easter Monday.
His delayed appearance only added fuel to the fire, especially after delivering a brief set before attempting to leave the venue.
The crowd, already frustrated by his absence the previous night, quickly surrounded him and demanded he deliver a full performance as promised.
To avoid further escalation, Clever J agreed to continue performing. He began with fan favorites like “Manzi Wa Nani” and “Mama,” and extended his set deep into the night to appease the audience.
