Kampala socialite Nduhukire Nasser, also known as Don Nasser, has been further remanded to Luzira Prison until November 25, 2024, on charges of child trafficking and defilement.
Nasser, along with his co-accused Atete Promise, ealier today appeared before Buganda Road Court for the continued mention of their case.
Senior State Attorney Lydia Nakato informed the court that the prosecution has completed its investigation into Nasser’s defilement charges. The court granted a brief adjournment to allow for the finalization of committal papers. Once completed, the case will proceed to the High Court’s International Crimes Division for trial.
Nasser, who has been in detention since September 23, 2024, faces charges of aggravated trafficking and sexual exploitation of a minor. His co-accused, 19-year-old Atete Promise, is charged with procuring defilement.
The indictment alleges that Atete facilitated the unlawful sexual engagement of a minor, under 18, with Nasser on May 3, 2024, on Acacia Avenue. Nasser is also accused of holding a 16-year-old girl captive at his Kira residence between May 23 and May 27, 2024.
While Nasser remains in remand, Atete Promise was granted bail by the High Court’s International Crimes Division. She paid a cash bail of UGX 3 million, surrendered her passport to the court, and is required to report to the court monthly.
