Dancehall star Cindy Sanyu has opened up about why she often turns down collaboration requests from fellow musicians , a habit that has earned her a reputation for being one of Uganda’s most “arrogant” artists.
One notable case was Crysto Panda’s hit song Kyoyina Omanya. Panda initially approached Cindy Sanyu for a feature, but she declined. He later collaborated with Sheebah, and the track went on to become a major success.
However, Cindy insists her decisions are purely professional. Speaking about her upcoming project with Western Uganda artist Omega 256, the Boom Party singer said talent is her top priority when considering a collaboration.
“I usually reject offers from artists who either lack talent or present projects that don’t make financial sense,It’s never personal. I value my brand and want to work with people who can deliver. When I heard Omega’s music, I was impressed. She’s talented, professional, and full of great energy that why I said yes”,she said.

Cindy added that once talent is established, she assesses the value and commercial viability of the collaboration. If both boxes are ticked, she’s open to working together.
In response, Omega 256 expressed excitement over working with Cindy, calling the studio experience “enlightening” and “full of good vibes.” She also dismissed the public perception of Cindy as arrogant, sharing that the veteran artist personally reached out to her after hearing and appreciating her music.
