Renowned Ugandan singer and live band performer Cinderella Sanyu, popularly known as Cindy, is preparing to hold a major concert on August 29th. However, as the date approaches, the artist is reportedly facing difficulties securing sponsorships for the event.

While the concert has been officially confirmed, details such as the venue and ticket pricing are still under wraps.

According to sources close to the singer, Cindy—who also serves as President of the Uganda Musicians Association—has spent over two months in negotiations with various companies but has yet to finalize any significant sponsorship deals.

One potential sponsor, Victoria University, is said to have shown interest in backing the concert. However, both parties are still ironing out terms, and the necessary paperwork has yet to be completed.

“The concert is on, but Cindy is having trouble locking down sponsors. Victoria University has expressed interest, but there’s no finalized agreement yet,” a source revealed to Daily Spear.

This upcoming event will mark Cindy’s return to the solo concert scene. Her most recent solo show, the “Boom Party” concert, took place in 2020 at Lugogo Cricket Oval.

Since then, she’s shared stages in collaborative events, including last year’s Blu*3 reunion concert at Sheraton Kampala Hotel alongside Lilian Mbabazi and Jackie Chandiru, as well as a headline-making music battle with Sheebah Karungi at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in September 2023.

As anticipation builds for her August performance, fans are eager to see if the self-proclaimed “King Herself” will pull through with the support she needs to deliver another unforgettable live show.
