Captain Francis Babu, a veteran politician and prominent member of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), has openly criticized his party following recent internal elections.
His public discontent began after his wife, Margaret Zziwa, lost the Nakawa West NRM primaries to Anderson Burora, a former Resident City Commissioner (RCC) of Lubaga.
Babu claims the election was marred by corruption, alleging that powerful figures within the party used money to sway voters and undermine Zziwa’s campaign.
Babu went further to accuse high-ranking officials, including the Speaker of Parliament, of heavily backing Burora out of fear of Zziwa’s political clout.

Speaking on a local radio station, Babu revealed he has been receiving death threats from unknown individuals, threats he believes are connected to his outspokenness. Despite the danger, he remains defiant.
“I am receiving life-threatening calls, but I don’t fear anything. I am speaking facts because I want the best for this country. We need better leadership, and I won’t stop speaking the truth, regardless of the threats.”,he said.
Babu insists that if the NRM primaries had been conducted freely and fairly, his wife would have won.
