Singer Moses Ssali, popularly known as Bebe Cool, has stirred fresh political debate after making a bold and controversial statement about his priorities during Uganda’s election season.
The outspoken Gagamel boss was speaking during a TikTok Live session hosted by Barista Timo, which later attracted Kampala Central MP Hon. Muhammad Nsereko.

During the heated discussion, Bebe Cool openly declared that President Yoweri Museveni currently ranks above his own family in importance.
According to the Love You Everyday hitmaker, the current political climate demands tough and clear choices.
“For now, as we are in the elections, it’s God, my country, my President, then my family,” Bebe Cool said, leaving many viewers stunned.

He went on to justify his stance, arguing that national leadership directly affects personal and family survival.
“Right now the President comes first because if I get a stupid President, my family perishes. So the President is very important now,” he added.
However, Hon. Muhammad Nsereko strongly disagreed, branding the remarks as careless and unrealistic. The legislator told Bebe Cool that no political leader can ever outweigh the value of one’s family.
“You’re joking stupidly,” Nsereko fired back, insisting that no leader can be placed above one’s child or family.
Nsereko further challenged the singer with a real-life example, questioning whether any parent would abandon a sick child to attend a political campaign, regardless of loyalty to a president.
Despite the criticism, Bebe Cool refused to backtrack. He maintained that his views are personal and rooted in his beliefs, stressing that everyone is entitled to set their own priorities.

“That’s my choice, and he has his,” Bebe Cool said, standing firm on his position that, for now, country comes first.
