Balaam Barugahara, Uganda’s State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, recently shared his perspective on singer Alien Skin in an interview with Sanyuka TV.
Alien Skin, who is currently facing serious allegations, including causing grievous harm at Nsambya Hospital and being involved in a theft case, has attracted both support and criticism.
Balaam emphasized that everyone goes through different stages in life as they grow, and in Alien Skin’s case, he has reached the peak of his success, earning praise and admiration from his peers.
However, Balaam noted that after his arrest, Alien Skin now finds himself isolated, without the support of his crew and friends. He pointed out that this situation should serve as a valuable lesson for all.
Expressing sympathy for Alien Skin, as well as his family and friends, Balaam also acknowledged the recent loss of Joram Tumwesigye, a member of the Fangone Forest group. Despite this, Balaam urged Alien Skin to reflect on his actions and work to put an end to the turmoil surrounding him.
Balaam voiced deep concern about the incident at Nsambya Hospital, calling it entirely unacceptable and stressing that such behavior should never be repeated. He also touched on the earlier phone theft case, suggesting that better decision-making could have avoided the entire situation.
As Minister for Youth, Balaam recognized Alien Skin’s significant talent and influence in Uganda’s entertainment scene. In an optimistic twist, he even suggested that Alien Skin could one day become a presidential candidate for the National Unity Platform (NUP), expressing confidence in his potential to succeed.
Balaam also affirmed his commitment to working with Alien Skin’s mentor, Bebe Cool, to ensure the singer receives justice.
However, he made it clear that justice requires accountability: Alien Skin must take responsibility for his actions, apologize to those he has wronged, and compensate for the damages caused.
Reiterating that no one is above the law, Balaam called on the public not to ridicule Alien Skin but to support him in becoming a better person. He encouraged the youth to reflect on the importance of respecting the law and its role in shaping their futures.
Finally, Balaam invited anyone who feels wronged by Alien Skin to come forward, assuring them that once the “Sitya Danger” singer is released, he will personally apologize and take full responsibility for his actions.
