Controversial Ugandan artist Patrick Mulwana, popularly known as Alien Skin, has revealed plans to step away from the music industry, citing ongoing disrespect and frustration.
In a candid TikTok video, the “Kapati” hitmaker expressed his exhaustion with the industry, saying he no longer feels appreciated despite the energy and creativity he has contributed. Alien Skin went as far as declaring that he will never perform on stage again.
“I’ve given my best to this industry. I’ve delivered good music, brought the vibe fans needed, but instead of being appreciated, I’ve only received disrespect even from people who aren’t musicians. It gets tougher and more disrespectful the higher you go.”,he said emotionally.
The Fangone Forest boss shared that his original goal was never fame or musical acclaim but simply to raise UGX 8 million in capital to invest in his personal business. Now, he feels the hustle of the industry has taken a toll on him.
Although his fans continue to show love and support, Alien Skin admitted he no longer has the will to continue.
He believes he’s already given his best and, while capable of more, sees no value in continuing in what he describes as an ungrateful environment.
“I’m done. I can’t keep doing this,” he emphasized.
However, this isn’t the first time Alien Skin has spoken about quitting music. Back in 2022, he similarly announced his retirement but continued performing into 2023 and beyond.
His latest announcement comes at a time when he and members of his crew are under public scrutiny following allegations of involvement in the assault of dancer and former Fangone Forest member Namuwaya, popularly known as Top Dancer, which reportedly that Alien Skin and his crew led to the dancer’s death. Alien Skin has denied any involvement in the incident.
