Ugandan rapper Gravity Omutujju recently shared his admiration for music icon Jose Chameleone, acknowledging the significant impact the singer has had on Uganda’s music scene.
Despite Chameleone’s tireless efforts to elevate and inspire his fellow artists, Gravity believes that the recognition he deserves has largely been overlooked.
“Chameleone has done so much for this industry, yet people have failed to truly appreciate him,” Gravity expressed, highlighting how Chameleone has played a key role in shaping the careers of many Ugandan musicians.
Gravity went on to explain that Chameleone’s influence extends beyond direct support to individual artists.
“He has uplifted so many, even if it wasn’t always in a direct way. Everyone has drawn inspiration from him in one form or another,” he said.
While acknowledging that Chameleone may have his flaws, Gravity emphasized that these shouldn’t overshadow the immense contributions he has made to the music industry.
Looking to the future, Gravity believes Chameleone deserves a special tribute for his lasting legacy.
“Chameleone should be celebrated in a unique way, like being honored on a special island where people can visit him, a place where his impact can be permanently recognized,” .
He suggested, underlining that Chameleone’s place in Ugandan music history should be immortalized.
