With a number of Television stations, the Ugandan citizens have been entertained with television shows, movies, music among others and here we mention some of the most watched and popular television stations in the Country.
1. NBS Television
Owned by Kin Kariisa, and popularly known as the Next Media services, NBS is a Ugandan television network with its headquarters located at Next Media Park plot 13 summit view road Naguru Kampala District.
The station was founded way back on 16th June 2008 same year it was registered got its license and officially started operating. NBS has therefore since then been able to entertain its audiences with Daily news broadcasts, movies, entertainment shows among others.
2. NTV
A Ugandan television station operating under the Nation Media group which operates in East Africa. The station has been on air since 2006 and it is one of the companies owned by Agha Khan IV.
The NTV headquarters are located at Serena Kampala Uganda. NTV television has over the years been able to entertain its viewers with news, entertainment shows such as NTV the Beat, soaps among others.
3. UBC Television
The Uganda Broadcasting Corporation is the public Broadcaster network of Uganda which merged the operations of Uganda Television and Radio Uganda and started broadcasting on 16th November 2005.
UBC is made of the country’s latest News, entertainment shows, current affairs among others.
4. Pearl Magic Prime
Pearl Magic Prime is a DSTV’s flagship channel for Uganda medal and upper bracket television audiences. It is a 24 hour general Entertainment channel targeted at compact, compact plus and premium Uganda pay TV audiences and showcases premium and authentic Ugandan content.
It has a context mix of Telenovelas, Reality Drama, Comedy, Lifestyle music and Ugandan movies to mention but a few.
5. Bukedde TV1/2
A General television channel which is part of the vision group a multi media conglomerate in Uganda.
Bukedde television was launched in October 2009 and transmits in Luganda with TV West operating in the Western region of Uganda. The station broadcasts luganda news dubbed Agataliko nfufu, movies, entertainment shows among others
6. BBS Television(BBS Terefayina)
Is a Private limited company which incorporated in February 2016 and is based in Kampala Uganda.
The Buganda Broadcasting Services us the official Broadcasting television of Buganda Kingdom mandated to create and engender informative, educative, entertaining and cultural content across all genres.
6. Sanyuka Television
Launched on 27th September 2018, Sanyuka television is a sister television to NBS Television also under the Next Media Services.
Sanyuka television airs in both English and Luganda and is focused on social, current affairs, entertainment and lifestyle content. It broadcasts shows like the morning express, uncut, bigenda bitya among others.
7. Spark Television
A sister television to NTV operating under the Nation Media Group, Spark television is the first female television in Uganda offering fresh and original programming for the upwardly mobile young female that seeks to ignite their life.
These television stations have therefore played a significant role of entertaining different audiences in the country and have swept them off boredom with their different entertainment shows.
