Renowned Ugandan comedian, Lubega Obedi alias ReignOmusoyisoyi from the comedy duo Reign and Maulana, has been arrested and is currently detained at an unknown location.
Security forces apprehended him at around 9:30 PM from his home in Mutundwe, Rubaga Division, Kampala.
His arrest was confirmed via the duo’s official Facebook page of Reign and Maulana, stating, “He’s been picked at his home in Mutundwe, Rubaga Division, in Kampala.”
Details surrounding his arrest remain scarce. However, reports suggest that he was forcibly taken from his residence by security operatives on suspicion of mobilizing for the March 2 Parliament protest.
Some Ugandans have noted his arrest, with a few expressing their concerns and seeking more information on social media.
