Events promoter–turned–NRM mobiliser Norbert Twizire, popularly known as Nobat Events, has once again ignited controversy after boldly attacking singer Eddy Kenzo, calling him a coward and insisting he has no reason to apologise to the Big Talent boss.
Nobat made the fiery remarks shortly before he was remanded to Luzira Prison, where he will stay until Thursday, December 18, when he returns to court to apply for bail.
Nobat was arrested earlier this week after artists Eddy Kenzo, Dr. Jose Chameleone, and Lady Mariam Tindatine filed complaints accusing him of misinformation and defamation.
He had earlier linked Kenzo to the death of producer Danz Kumapeesa, a claim Kenzo has repeatedly dismissed.
According to court records:
Kenzo filed 8 charges
Chameleone filed 3 charges
Tindatine filed 1 charge
In total, Nobat faces over 12 counts of defamation and misinformation.
Nobat told court that Chameleone “misquoted” him and insisted he never defamed the Leone Island boss.
The judge told him the prosecution must present evidence, and he will respond as the case continues.
Wearing a shirt decorated with images of NRM’s flagbearer President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Nobat launched a fresh attack on Kenzo:
“Tell Kenzo he’s a coward… a very fearful man. We were in NRM before him. He’s just a newcomer and he will also come and go. He’s not a prince in NRM the party has its chosen ones and he’s not one of them.”Nobat fumed.
Asked if he would apologise to Big Talent Entertainment boss, Nobat stood his ground.
“Apologize for what? Kenzo is acting untouchable. He’s also a nobody in NRM”,he said.
This clash between Kenzo and Nobat is far from over.
