NRM presidential candidate Yoweri Kaguta Museveni chose vibes over the podium on Sunday as he skipped the highly anticipated NTV presidential debate and instead held a chilled-out hangout with Gen Z youth at his Rwakitura home.
The meetup, organised under the fast-growing Unstoppable Uganda youth campaign, brought together young people eager to engage the President directly on real issues including : jobs, opportunities, innovation, and the tough economic times.
Unlike the usual political speeches, this session was straight talk and answers as Museveni, who is seeking another term in 2026, listened to concerns from the young generation.
Later in the evening, the President is expected to appear on the Sevo Café podcast for the “Unstoppable Gen Z Presidential Conversation,” scheduled for 7:40 PM—just minutes before the NTV debate kicks off at 8:00 PM.
This comes days after NRM confirmed Museveni would not attend the debate, leaving the stage to opposition candidates, including NUP’s Bobi Wine, who already confirmed his participation.
