The party has instead endorsed Zahara Luyirika, the current KCCA Speaker, marking a move that is both strategic and symbolic.
Luyirika, who had initially expressed interest in contesting for the Kampala Woman MP seat, was chosen following what party officials described as a “careful assessment” of her leadership credentials and the constituency’s evolving needs.
