Former Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga, who is contesting for the position of 2nd Vice Chairperson (Female) on the National Resistance Movement (NRM)’s Central Executive Committee (CEC), has raised serious concerns over the integrity of the ongoing internal elections.

Speaking to delegates at the NRM conference at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kadaga alleged that the electoral process is being tainted by bribery, intimidation, corruption, and abuse of office.

She claimed to have credible reports that some delegates were given iPads, phones, and Shs300,000 in areas including Nabisunsa, Nakawa, and Kisasi.

“These actions are clearly aimed at manipulating the election outcomes. This is taxpayers’ money being misused. We must reject leaders who engage in these corrupt acts.” She warned, urging delegates to stand firm against such practices.

She called on NRM members to uphold integrity and resist any attempts to compromise the process through inducements or threats.

She is facing stiff competition from current Speaker Anita Among, who is reportedly leading the race for the 2nd Vice Chairperson (Female) seat.
