Western Uganda-based singer Omega 256, born Shamim Murerwa, abruptly walked out of an interview on Sanyuka TV’s Crossfire show over the weekend, citing disrespect from host Brian Macona.
The program, which airs every Sunday and features celebrity interviews, took a contentious turn during its latest episode when Macona’s introduction of the singer sparked controversy.
In his opening remarks, he labeled Omega 256 as “uneducated” and “arrogant,” claimed she had been disowned by her family, accused her of being a home wrecker, and suggested she dyed her hair to conceal her real age.
He also insinuated that she was pursuing romantic relationships with fellow entertainers Ray G and Nobat Events.

Offended by the remarks, Omega initially walked off the set. Macona, however, convinced her to return. Upon resuming the interview, he questioned her about visible skin patches, implying she had run out of bleaching products a comment that further upset the singer.
Though Omega 256 remained composed for much of the exchange, she ultimately chose to leave the studio for good, stating that the line of questioning was offensive and deliberately intended to damage her reputation.
