Raising singer Uncle Chumi, whose real name is Mushabe Crek Haidare, has been arrested and is currently detained at Busabala Police Station.
The arrest reportedly followed a serious fallout with a close friend.
Sources indicate that Chumi was apprehended on Thursday evening while attending to personal commitments in Munyonyo. She has since been charged with theft.
Confirmation of the arrest came from social media personality Sheilah Price, who shared a series of TikTok videos showing Chumi at the police station.
In the footage, the visibly distressed singer can be seen making several phone calls from the Officer in Charge’s office, seemingly seeking assistance.
According to individuals close to the artist, efforts are already underway to secure her release on bail. They remain hopeful for a positive resolution.
