Police have issued two arrest warrants for renowned Ugandan land broker Hajji Muhammad Kamoga, over alleged illegal land transactions in Bukaya–Garuga, Entebbe (Wakiso District). A Shs 3 million reward has been announced for information leading to his arrest.

The warrants were issued on Friday, October 10, 2025, after Kamoga failed to respond to summons from the Entebbe Chief Magistrate’s Court.

Kamoga, who serves as the Managing Director of Kamoga Property Consultants in Entebbe, had earlier ignored court summons issued two weeks ago regarding several land-related cases.

He had been required to appear before the court on Monday, September 29, 2025, to answer charges of forging a lawyer’s practicing certificate in connection with the fraudulent acquisition of 200 acres of land in Garuga–Bukaya, Entebbe. However, he failed to attend, citing illness.

His absence prompted Her Worship Lilian Mazimwe, the presiding magistrate, to issue an arrest warrant directing police to apprehend Kamoga wherever he may be found.

During the court session, Entebbe State Attorney Paul Byamukama Aheebwa informed the court that Kamoga’s lawyers had claimed he was hospitalized at Makarov Hospital. However, Byamukama argued that Kamoga’s condition was not life-threatening and that he was fit to attend court.

Reports suggest that the embattled tycoon may be in hiding to avoid arrest, despite claims that he is currently hospitalized at Nakasero Hospital.

Earlier, His Worship Edgar Tibayeita Tumusiime, the Entebbe Senior Grade One Magistrate, had issued fresh criminal summons instructing any uniformed police officer to arrest Kamoga and produce him in court “dead or alive.” The order followed multiple previous summons that Kamoga had failed to honor.

Kamoga faces accusations of forging the practicing certificate, signature, and official stamp of lawyer Lorna Nkamwesiga to fraudulently obtain the 200-acre property in Garuga Village, Katabi Town Council, Wakiso District.

Once a prominent land dealer, Kamoga’s reputation has suffered due to numerous legal battles involving alleged fraudulent land transactions. He also faces additional charges of obtaining land registration by false pretense and uttering forged documents.
