The Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) has officially explained why Salt TV’s morning show “Omusunsuzi”, co-hosted by presidential advisor Jennifer Nakanguubi (aka Full Figure) and veteran actor Charles James Ssenkubuge, has been suspended.

The show, which airs weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., was taken off the air following routine monitoring and multiple public complaints, according to a statement released by UCC on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

UCC said its investigation revealed that the program violated the Minimum Broadcasting Standards, citing abusive content, inappropriate language, and unprofessional conduct by the hosts.

One of the commission’s major concerns is the show’s airtime—early morning hours when children are likely to be watching TV. UCC emphasized the importance of protecting minors from exposure to harmful or inappropriate material.

As part of its enforcement action, UCC has directed Salt TV to:

UCC’s letter of Suspension addressed to Salt TV

Immediately suspend the “Omusunsuzi” program

Submit a formal written response addressing the complaints

Provide recordings of all episodes aired between August 1 and September 12, 2025

Submit the show’s full script for review

Salt TV has been given a deadline of Friday, September 19, 2025, to fully comply with the directive.
