There was a somber mood as the late Jackline Nassimbwa, mother to celebrated Ugandan rapper Fik Fameica, was laid to rest amid tears and grief from family, friends and fans.
Jackline Nassimbwa passed away towards the end of last week after a long battle with kidney-related complications. She was rushed to Kibuli Muslim Hospital in a bid to save her life, but despite receiving specialised medical care, she sadly breathed her last on the morning of December 27, 2025.
Following her death, several vigils were held to honour her life, including one at Fik Fameica’s home in Muyenga. The body was later transferred to Luwero Kasana for final burial arrangements.
Before her burial, a funeral service was conducted at St Ruth’s Church of Uganda, where mourners gathered to pray and pay their last respects. The service was marked by emotional moments as family members and friends remembered her as a loving and supportive mother.
Jackline Nassimbwa was later laid to rest today at her ancestral burial grounds in Luwero Kasana, with grief-stricken loved ones struggling to hold back tears as she was committed to the grave.
After the burial, an emotional Fik Fameica thanked fellow musicians, friends and fans for standing with him during the difficult period, saying their support gave him strength during one of the hardest moments of his life.
