UNMF president and award-winning artiste Eddy Kenzo has finally put an end to his long-running war of words with fellow musician Bebe Cool, making it clear he is done mentioning his name.
Speaking openly in recent interview , Kenzo said talking about Bebe Cool brings him no benefit at all, insisting it is Bebe Cool who gains relevance whenever his name is brought into the conversation.
“Bebe Cool, this is my last time talking about you because I gain nothing when I talk about you. It’s you that gains,” Kenzo said.
Kenzo went further, accusing Bebe Cool of repeatedly attaching himself to successful artistes to stay relevant instead of focusing on music.
“For years, he has been spotting successful people and jumping on them for relevance. He should go back to the studio and make good music instead of cheap talk and chasing attention,” Kenzo added.
Kenzo went as far as apologising to Bebe Cool’s family for his remarks but still described the singer as “dense.”
Eddy Kenzo further claimed that his music speaks for itself, saying he has popular songs that are widely known by the public.
He contrasted this with Bebe Cool, whom he accused of lacking musical direction, claiming that he is not even sure of the language he should sing in.
The rivalry between Eddy Kenzo and Bebe Cool has existed for a long time, although it has mostly remained calm and indirect.
However, the feud was re-ignited last year following misunderstandings related to artists’ performances during President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s campaign activities.
The remarks have sparked mixed reactions among fans and music lovers, with many viewing Kenzo’s statement as a clear signal that he wants to move on and focus on his career and leadership role at UNMF.
With their rivalry having fueled debates in the music industry for years, Kenzo’s latest comments suggest he is ready to close that chapter once and for all.
