Ugandan musician Alien Skin, real name Mulwana Patrick, is facing a major legal setback as he risks losing ownership of his trademark “Fangone Forest” after it was discovered that another individual officially registered the name.
According to records from the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), the brand Fangone Forest Entertainment Ltd was registered and trademarked by Agumiikiriza Aguma Aaron, a businessman who reportedly obtained the rights in November 2023.
The “Kapiti” hitmaker, feeling blindsided by the revelation, has since filed a petition with URSB, contesting the registration and asserting that the name rightfully belongs to him as it represents his musical movement and identity.
In a letter dated October 15, 2025, URSB acknowledged receipt of Alien Skin’s complaint and instructed him to provide sufficient proof within 42 days to support his claim of rightful ownership of the Fangone Forest brand.
However, Aguma maintains that he is the legitimate owner of the name. In a sworn affidavit, he stated that he has used Fangone Forest since 2011, years before Alien Skin rose to fame.
As the legal dispute intensifies, fans and industry observers are closely watching how this trademark battle will unfold.
