Renowned Ugandan YouTuber and content Creator Shalom Kaweesi has finally secured bail after spending week behind bars.
On Tuesday, the Makindye Chief Magistrates’ Court granted Shalom bail in a cyber harassment case that has kept him in custody for days.
The court released him on a non-cash bond of Shs5 million. Each of his sureties was also bonded for a non-cash amount of Shs5 million.
Shalom was arrested and charged with cyber harassment following a complaint lodged by social media person and NRM party Mobiliser Jennifer “Full Figure” Nakangubi.
After his arrest, he was remanded to Luzira Prison for a week as he awaited the hearing of his bail application.When he reappeared in court on Tuesday, the magistrate approved his request for temporary freedom.
Shalom is now expected to return to court on February 3 at 9:30 a.m. as the case continues.
