Renowned Ugandan Singer Wycliff Tugume alias Ykee Benda and his fiancée Emily Nyawira are set to take another major step in their journey to marriage, with their official Kwanjula (introduction ceremony) scheduled for this Saturday, September 13th, 2025, in Naalya.
The couple began formalizing their union earlier this year. In June, they held a private engagement celebration, followed by a Kukyala ceremony in July at Emily’s family home a key step in traditional Buganda culture.
This weekend’s Kwanjula will see the “Farmer” hit maker present his dowry, receive blessings from both families, and celebrate with food, music, and other cultural festivities.
Sources close to the couple suggest that their wedding date will be announced shortly after the introduction ceremony.
