Benon Mugumbya, co-founder and director at Swangz Avenue, has admitted that the real reason behind Irene Ntale’s departure from the label remains a mystery—even to him.
Irene Ntale parted ways with Swangz Avenue in 2017 after spending four years with the label. At the time, she announced her decision to pursue a solo career, expressing no regrets about leaving.
Although she hinted at frustrations with the label, Ntale never publicly revealed the exact reasons for her exit.
Speaking in a recent interview on Galaxy TV, Benon Mugumbya opened up about the situation, saying, “I actually don’t know the reason why she left Swangz Avenue.”
Benon Mugumbya added that her departure was painful, especially considering how well she was performing at the time.
“It really hurt us when Irene left. She’s incredibly talented, one of the most gifted artists Uganda has. We could’ve achieved so much more together,” Benon said.
Despite the unexplained split, Benon continues to hold Ntale in high regard, acknowledging her talent and the potential they had as a team.
