In an unexpected turn of events, Ibra Kabadiya , a close associate and bodyguard of singer Alien Skin has publicly apologized to veteran artist Jose Chameleone and his fans for the disrespectful remarks he made against the Leone Island boss.
Last month, Kabadiya stirred controversy after releasing a video in which he insulted and threatened Chameleone, calling him a “faded artist” and vowing to beat him and his associates. His outburst came after Chameleone mocked Alien Skin’s hit song ‘Kapati’.
“You’re sick, and everything about you is sick. We shall beat you up and make you focus on your family matters. You’re a faded artist with no hit songs or vibrant fan base. All your fans are over 30, and no young people even know you. We’ll join forces with your brother Pallaso and teach you a lesson,” said Kabadiya at the time.
Kabadiya’s remarks were widely condemned online, with many social media users branding them as highly disrespectful. They argued that Alien Skin’s success cannot yet compare to Chameleone’s decades-long influence and legacy in the Ugandan music industry, urging the Fangone Forest crew to show respect to the veteran artist.
However, in a heartfelt video now circulating on social media, Kabadiya has expressed deep regret over his words. He admitted that he used his phone to “hurt” and “disrespect” the legendary singer and asked for forgiveness.
“I used my phone to hurt you, disrespect you, and insult you, but I’m here asking for forgiveness. I will never do it again, papa.I’m sorry for what I did earlier. I was just excited. Please, you are our father, and we are your younger brothers let peace prevail,”he said emotionally.
Kabadiya’s apology comes after weeks of tension between Alien Skin’s Fangone Forest camp and Chameleone’s Leone Island family, fueled by online exchanges and heated fan debates over respect and hierarchy in Ugandan music.
His move has since been praised by fans, many of whom are calling for reconciliation and unity in the entertainment industry. Some have also urged Alien Skin to follow Kabadiya’s example and extend an olive branch to Chameleone.
With the apology now public, fans hope this marks the beginning of a new era of peace, maturity, and mutual respect among Uganda’s top musicians.
Jose Chameleone has not yet responded to Kabadiya’s apology. We’ll keep you updated once he does.
