Singer Spice Diana has made it clear that she has no personal issues with fellow artist Nina Roz, but she won’t be actively supporting her political campaign.

The clarification came after Spice was asked whether she would campaign for the former black market records artist, who recently secured the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket to contest for the Sembabule District Woman Member of Parliament seat.

In response, Spice Diana playfully dodged the question by saying she doesn’t even know what a “card” looks like, except for things like immunization and ID cards. When pressed further, she congratulated Nina Roz on her political ambition but firmly stated that she won’t be campaigning for her.

“I wish her well, but that doesn’t mean I’ll physically go out and campaign for her. That’s a whole different matter. I have no problem with her and never have,” Spice Diana said.

The “Siri regular” singer was also asked if any bitterness remained between her and Nina, following a past fallout which saw Nina Roz reportedly say she “doesn’t argue with short people”, a comment many believed was aimed at Spice Diana.

Brushing off the issue, Spice responded, “I’m not offended. Even if I were short, I wouldn’t be bitter about something like that.”

Earlier this year, the two artists were engaged in a public spat over industry-related matters, but Spice insists there’s no lingering animosity.

Nina Roz is one of several entertainers who have been chosen by NUP to contest in the upcoming general elections. She faces a tough political battle in Sembabule District, where she will try to unseat incumbent MP Mary Begumisa. Begumisa is expected to run as an independent after losing the NRM primaries to Florence Nambaziira.
