Renowned Ugandan singer Hajara Namukwaya alias Spice Diana, has urged her fans to remain calm and ignore circulating rumors that the recent attack she experienced was a publicity stunt.
The incident reportedly occurred on the night of October 17, as the Singer was returning home to Makindye after her pre-birthday celebrations. While driving along Munyonyo Road, unidentified men on a boda boda allegedly hurled stones and pavers at her Range Rover, shattering the rear door windows and back windscreen.
In a statement, Spice Diana explained that the assailant had trailed her vehicle before launching the attack. Fortunately, she and her friends escaped uninjured.
“I was followed and attacked by a boda boda rider who hit my car, damaging the rear door glasses and breaking the back window.I am grateful to report that I am safe and unharmed.”,she said.
The singer expressed appreciation for the concern shown by her fans but cautioned against spreading misinformation.
“Please do not engage with, share, or believe any false information, rumors, or old videos circulating on social media regarding this matter,” she appealed, emphasizing that any official updates will only come from her verified accounts.
Spice Diana also released CCTV footage showing the moment the assailant pelted her car with stones and pavers, leaving it visibly damaged.
However, following the release of the video, some social media users accused the singer of orchestrating the attack as a publicity stunt a claim she strongly refutes.
The Source Management artist described such allegations as “hate comments” often spread by rival fan groups.
“I’ve seen some hate comments about my incident. It’s sad that in the art industry, people only believe something serious when there’s a dead body. To those spreading negativity, may God forgive you,” she said, adding that she remains unbothered by such criticism.
Spice Diana assured her fans that all her scheduled performances and events will go on as planned, and noted that she will not be granting media interviews about the incident.
