The story surrounding the sudden and mysterious death of 27-year-old Carol Nalubwama has taken a dramatic twist after police confirmed the arrest of the wife of city socialite Bryan White, together with three other women believed to be close to him.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the four suspects are currently detained as investigations into Carol’s death intensify.
Among those arrested is Joyce Irene Nnambalirwa, the owner of the nursing facility where Carol was first taken. She is being held on allegations of negligence causing death, after allegedly failing to offer proper medical care before Carol was later rushed to Kiruddu Hospital, where she died on October 28.
Also in custody are three women said to be part of Bryan White’s inner circle — Nalunga Daisy, Avaho Daphine, and Nakato Nava. One of them is believed to be his wife.
“We are holding the owner of the facility and three others suspected to be close to the deceased and to Bryan Kirumira. The case file is with the Resident State Attorney who will guide on the next steps,”
Owoyesigyire confirmed.
Reports initially claimed that Carol sustained severe burns from a gas explosion at Bryan White’s residence along Salaama Road.
However, her family has rejected this story, accusing Bryan White of hiding the truth and possibly involving their daughter in mysterious activities.
Videos circulating online show Carol’s parents crying for justice, demanding for a full investigation.
Police have further revealed that Bryan White is currently under police watch while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Entebbe.
Authorities say he is a key suspect and will be questioned once he stabilizes.
Police say they are now waiting for the Resident State Attorney to decide the next course of action, including possible charges.
