Drama between ex-couple Canary Mugume and Sasha Ferguson has taken a new twist after Sasha’s lawyer, Roger Mugabi, publicly accused the NBS TV journalist of lying about the child custody case and the abuse allegations.
Mugabi, who says he represented Sasha Ferguson in court, dismissed Canary’s claims that he won custody, insisting the journalist’s application was thrown out.
In a fiery post on X, Mugabi wrote:
“Canary, you’re lying. I represented your traumatized wife and your custody application was dismissed. Even the magistrate was shocked by the images of your battered, bleeding wife.”
He added that he is ready to release the court documents and images with Sasha’s consent if Canary “continues to spin the story.”
Earlier, Canary had defended himself on X, saying he was actually the victim of domestic violence and had only seen his children once in 10 months, despite sending financial support.
He also claimed authorities refused to enforce the custody order he says he won.
“I have gone to court, fought, and been granted custody of my children, custody that authorities deliberately failed to enforce (that is a story for another day). Custody was granted on grounds of desertion: the mother had deserted them in a locked apartment with a maid while she was traveling overseas. Since January, I have been denied access to my children, despite numerous requests to seem and third parties intervening. To men: speak up against violence from your wives when you still have the chance. I suffered in silence for too long. It didn’t help. This is the last time I am addressing this issue, please give me space to heal.”,Canary noted.
With both sides presenting completely different stories, social media is divided, and the drama shows no signs of slowing down.
