Former NTV Uganda Login presenter Robin Kisti has been released on bail after spending several weeks in Luzira Prison on assault charges.
Kisti was arrested over a week ago for allegedly assaulting her neighbor.
Following her arrest, rumors began circulating on social media suggesting she was also detained for marijuana possession claims she has strongly denied.
Speaking shortly after her release, Kisti clarified that while authorities did find a basin containing substances suspected to be drugs in her bedroom, the rumors were exaggerated by bloggers she believes were paid to tarnish her image.
Despite downplaying the reports, she admitted that a small quantity of marijuana was found in her possession.
Kisti explained that she uses it medicinally to manage nausea and other symptoms related to early pregnancy.
