Musician Princess Amirah has shared details about her relationship with Microfinance Minister Haruna Kasolo, confirming that the two are indeed together.
In a recent interview with a local television station, Amira revealed that she has converted to Islam out of respect for Kasolo and has adopted a new name— Amirah Kasolo.
“We had a simple wedding that wasn’t publicized because it didn’t concern the public,” she said, referring to their modest Nikah ceremony.
Amirah expressed deep affection for the Minister, proudly describing herself as his favorite wife. “I took the Shahada and received a new name. I honor him every day. The Nikah was a special moment for us as a family.”
Amirah also shared that she closed her restaurant business to dedicate more time to her relationship, which is why she no longer performs frequently around town.
“Right now, I’m focused on loving my husband and building our relationship,” she added.
However, tensions appear to exist between Amira and the Minister’s publicly recognized wife, Aisha Kasolo. The two women are reportedly at odds and often clash when they meet.
In January, Aisha publicly denied Amirah’s status as a legitimate wife, stating, “I don’t know Princess Amira. I know all of Haruna’s wives, and they are registered in the marriage registry. I’ve never seen her as a co-wife because I doubt they are married.”
Despite the controversy, Princess Amirah stands by her commitment to Minister Kasolo and the path she has chosen.
