Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro has expressed heartfelt appreciation for her husband, award-winning musician Eddy Kenzo, recognizing him as her strongest pillar of support in managing the demanding balance between her political career and family life.
Nyamutoro, who serves as the National Female Youth Member of Parliament and Minister of State for Minerals in the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, acknowledged that handling her multiple responsibilities is no easy feat.
Speaking during a television interview, she admitted that maintaining equilibrium between her professional and personal life requires deliberate effort and a solid support system.
She credited her husband, family, work colleagues, and her dedicated constituency team for helping her stay grounded.
“Striking a balance between work and family is very demanding. It takes a lot of effort and intentional planning.Fortunately, I have a very supportive system my husband, my family, my team at work, and an incredible constituency team. Without them, I wouldn’t manage; I’d probably be worn out by now.”Nyamutoro said.
Recently, Nyamutoro was endorsed as the NRM flag bearer for the Nebbi District Woman MP seat in the upcoming general elections. Throughout her campaign journey, Eddy Kenzo has been a constant presence by her side, offering unwavering support.
Reflecting on his commitment, Nyamutoro revealed that her husband’s involvement in her campaign was entirely voluntary — a gesture that deeply moved her. She described Kenzo as her “biggest cheerleader,” someone who has always believed in her abilities and encouraged her to pursue her ambitions with confidence.
“I didn’t have to ask him to campaign for me , he did it out of his own will. He has supported my career from the very beginning. I often tell him he’s one of my biggest challenges because he constantly believes I can achieve anything. He once told me I could be a superwoman if I wanted to. It’s a true blessing to have someone who believes in you and proudly walks with you to see your dreams come true.”she shared.
