Musician-turned-politician Stecia Mayanja has been summoned by the National Peasants Party (NPP) following her appearance at a political event organized by the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

The NPP, through its Secretary General, issued a formal notice requiring Mayanja to appear before the party’s National Executive Committee today at 4:00 PM at party headquarters.

“This follows allegations of her participation in NRM political rallies, which are inconsistent with the National Peasants Party Constitution. She is required to respond to these allegations and will be given a fair hearing,” the notice stated.

The party further warned that failure to attend without a valid explanation could lead to disciplinary measures. The summons was made public in the interest of transparency and accountability.

The controversy stems from an event held over the weekend at Kololo Independence Grounds, where Mayanja recently elected president of the NPP was among several entertainers who performed at the NRM gathering.

During her set, she performed her hit songs and was seen energetically dancing, including twerking, much to the excitement of the crowd. Her appearance at the event raised eyebrows, as the NPP has publicly positioned itself in opposition to the ruling party.

As of now, Stecia Mayanja has not issued any public response to the summons.
