Former Kawempe South Member of Parliament, Mubarak Munyagwa, has shared his thoughts on the ongoing divorce between Ugandan music icon Jose Chameleone and his wife of 17 years, Daniella Atim.
Speaking on Kasuku’s podcast, Munyagwa urged Chameleone to avoid a prolonged legal battle and instead grant Daniella all her demands—full custody of their five children, financial support, and their marital home in Seguku.
This follows the recent revelation that Daniella has officially filed for divorce, marking the end of their long-standing relationship. Although both parties appeared in court this week, they failed to reach an agreement.
Sources indicate that Daniella is seeking custody, ongoing financial support, and approximately 60% of Chamili’s assets.
While some people have advised Chameleone to contest the demands, Munyagwa believes a peaceful settlement is the wiser path.
“I advise Chamili not to let anger cloud his judgment, especially toward his children. He currently has no access to them, and they may not fully understand the situation,It’s best he signs the papers and gives Daniella what she’s asking for let her keep the house, even if she chooses to live there with someone else. Continue supporting her financially for the children’s sake.”Munyagwa said.
Munyagwa emphasized that by taking the high road, Chamili may be rewarded with greater blessings in the future.
However, his comments have sparked debate. Critics argue that the advice is unrealistic and that Jose should negotiate for fairer terms. Munyagwa dismissed such views, warning that those encouraging resistance may be leading the singer astray.
