Former Kawempe North Member of Parliament Latif Ssebagala has come out strongly against musician and NRM supporter Moses Ssali alias Bebe Cool, demanding a public apology to Prince Kassim Nakibinge, Buganda, and the Muslim community.
Ssebagala’s remarks follow Bebe Cool’s recent attack on National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, after he paid a courtesy visit to Prince Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, the titular head of Muslims in Uganda.
Speaking during an interview on a local television station, Ssebagala revisited Bebe Cool’s statements, describing them as offensive and dangerous.
The controversy dates back to December 22, 2025, when Bobi Wine visited Prince Nakibinge at his residence in Kibuli. The two held a closed-door meeting, after which Prince Nakibinge called on security agencies to respect human rights and ensure peaceful elections.
Bobi Wine later described the meeting as meaningful and productive.
However, Bebe Cool reacted angrily, questioning why Prince Nakibinge would meet Bobi Wine, whom he referred to as a Catholic and his long-time political rival. The comments sparked outrage in various circles.
Ssebagala said Bebe Cool crossed the line by dragging religion and Buganda into political and personal fights, stressing that such remarks only fuel division.
He emphasized that Prince Nakibinge has the right to meet any Ugandan leader, regardless of their religion or political affiliation.
According to Ssebagala, Bebe Cool must apologise for disrespecting Prince Nakibinge, the Buganda Kingdom, and the Muslim community.
Daily Spear Ug will keep you posted in case Bebe Cool responds to the demands.
