Ugandan singer Kalifah AgaNaga is gearing up for a major career milestone with a mega concert slated for May next year at Kampala Serena Hotel.
The show will mark 15 years of AgaNaga’s journey in the music industry, a milestone he says deserves a big and classy celebration.
AgaNaga broke the news last week while performing at The Villa, where he told excited revelers that his long-standing contribution to Ugandan music had earned him the right to headline such a prestigious venue.
Confident in his fan base, the singer revealed that tickets will go for Shs 200,000.
“I have sung for you for a long time, so allow me to beat you the straw,” AgaNaga joked, sending the crowd into cheers.
During the same performance, AgaNaga was asked to pick his favorite among Uganda’s music heavyweights — Jose Chameleone, Bebe Cool and Bobi Wine. He did not hesitate to name Jose Chameleone, saying he is a true product of the Leone Island boss.
“We all like Bobi Wine. I like Bebe Cool’s voice, and I love Bobi Wine’s lyrics. But Chameleone is me. To me, Chameleone can never do anything bad. I learned persistence from him. Every year he’s on the charts, and that’s what I also wanted when I became a star,” AgaNaga said.
More details about the concert are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
