AfriDigital, the parent company of NRG Uganda, has appointed Swangz Avenue boss, Julius Kyazze to a pivotal leadership role as part of its strategic push into youth-oriented broadcast media.
Julius Kyazze, a prominent figure in the entertainment and creative industries, joins the NRG Uganda board where he will spearhead the group’s strategy. His primary focus will be on brand development, programming, and driving continental growth, as AfriDigital strengthens its presence in the regional media landscape.
Best known for his instrumental roles in building Swangz Avenue, Buzz Group Africa, and The Quollective, Kyazze views his foray into media as a natural extension of his vision to create African-led platforms that blend culture, creativity, and commerce.
While embracing his new role, Kyazze will continue to lead his existing ventures, using his expertise to redefine radio and content for the next generation of African audiences.
“This isn’t just a transition; it’s an opportunity for scale,” Kyazze said. “AfriDigital/NRG embodies the bold and unapologetic energy that resonates with today’s African youth, and I’m excited to be part of its journey as we expand into new markets.”
Alykhan Hudani, founder and chairman of AfriDigital, expressed his enthusiasm about Kyazze’s appointment: “Julius brings a unique combination of vision, execution, and deep cultural insight that aligns perfectly with the direction we’re taking NRG. We’re excited to collaborate on shaping the future of African media.”
